TUCSON, Ariz. — Frank “Dutch” Andrew Greer, 67, of Tucson, formerly of Chaffee, Missouri, passed away Tuesday April 25, 2017, at his home.

Frank was born to Byrl Theodore and Mary Louise Schmitt Greer on Feb. 8, 1950 in Chaffee.

Frank was affectionately named “Dutch” by his childhood friends. In his youth, he was an altar boy for St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee and a Boy Scout. He attended St. Ambrose Grade School and Chaffee High School. He graduated from Southeast Missouri State University with Bachelor of Science degrees in English and philosophy.

After graduation, Frank moved to Tucson to work in his older brother’s company, Nelson Greer Painting Contractor Inc., where he was the contract specialist.

In his spare time, Frank wrote poetry and prose. He also wrote numerous technical articles for the Painting and Decorating Contractors of America (PDCA).

He is survived by Sharon Kay (Greer) Wylie, mother of his two daughters, Jody Greer of Tucson and Lauren (Ryan) Terpstra of Lake Oswego, Oregon; three grandchildren, Lily, Violet and Graham; and three sisters, Rosemary (Gary) Glenzy of Lexington, Kentucky, Laverne (Bud) Keller of Chaffee and Judy Greer of Columbus, Ohio. He also is survived by numerous nephews and nieces in Arizona, California, Idaho, Texas, Kentucky and Ohio.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents; his three brothers, John, Nelson and Paul; and a sister, Hattie.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Desert Sunset Funeral Home, 3081 W. Orange Grove Road, Tucson, AZ 85741.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in Frank’s name.
