Frank L. C. Betts, 65, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Dec. 12, 2008, at his home.
He was born June 15, 1943, at Charleston, Mo., son of Jim and Mattie Johnson Betts. He and Betty Haynes were married Sept. 15, 1987.
He retired from ABF Freight in July 2005 and was a member of the U.S. Navy from 1963 to 1966, receiving an honorable discharge.
Survivors include his wife; six sons, Marcus Woods and Thomas Griffins of Cape Girardeau, Darrell Williams of Omaha, Neb., Andra Williams of Oklahoma City, Okla., Franklin Walker of Kansas City, Mo., and Andre Betts of Columbia, Mo.; four daughters, Carol O'Donald, Lavonda Carter and Valeria Jackson, all of Columbia, Valerie Hall of Charleston; five brothers, Herman Betts of St. Louis, William Betts and Jimmy Betts of Charleston, Johnny Betts and Calvin Betts of Kansas City; four sisters, Minnie Betts of St. Louis, Mamie McClory and Carrie Milo of Kansas City, Jean Foster of Earl, Ark.; a stepson, Clarence Fisher of Cape Girardeau; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to service time Saturday at the Bowden Civic Center in Charleston.
The funeral will be at noon Saturday at the center, with the Rev. Steve Betts officiating.
Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Williams Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
