SARASOTA, Fla. — Frances Seymour Reed, 78, of Sarasota passed away the evening of Wednesday, March 22, 2017, in Sarasota.
She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Clyde Edward Reed; her sister, Mary Emge; her sons, Christopher and his wife, Karen, and Steven and his wife, Jeannette; her daughter, Angela; two granddaughters, Nicole and Sophia; and one grandson, Alexander.
Fran was born in 1938 in Cape Girardeau. She met her husband while attending college at Southeast Missouri State University, where she earned her teaching degree.
They married and raised their three children in Wisconsin and later moved to Pompton Plains, New Jersey. Fran worked with her husband and their daughter, Angela, in their family business, Reed Corp. After selling the business, they retired in Wall Township, New Jersey, and on Siesta Key in Sarasota.
While living in Wall Township, Fran formed the Four Seasons Women’s Club, which is very active today. Fran was an incredible wife and mother who touched many people’s lives. With her genuine love of people, she attracted and made friends with everyone she met.
A private memorial service was held March 25.
