Frances Leota Limbaugh, 89, of Jackson died Friday, Sept. 8, 2006, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born July 25, 1917, in Doniphan, Mo. daughter of Charles and Frances Hufstedler Booker. She and Alfred H. Limbaugh were married Sept. 30, 1939, in Doniphan. He passed away Nov. 21, 1998.
Limbaugh was a graduate of the former Southeast Missouri State Teachers College in Cape Girardeau. Her career included teaching at Concord School near Portageville, the former Lutesville School and Hickory Grove School. From 1957 to 1979, she worked at the Riverside Regional Library in Jackson, first as the media librarian and then as the assistant librarian. Limbaugh was a member of First Baptist Church in Jackson and a former member of Burfordville Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school. She was a member of the Copper Dome Society at Southeast Missouri State University, was active in the Jackson PEO chapter, and a member of the American Association of University Women.
Loving survivors include a son, Dr. Charles "Chad" (Joyce) Limbaugh of Winchester, Tenn.; a daughter, Jo Frances "Jody" (Keith) Nelson of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; five grandchildren, Marla (Tom) Mays of Sacramento, Calif., Dr. Brent (Sheila) Limbaugh of Augusta, Ga., Amanda (Chad) Casey of Poplar Bluff, Adam (Diana) Nelson of Springfield, Mo., Page (Steve) Rutledge of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; and 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister.
Friends may call today from 4 to 8 p.m. at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
Funeral service will be at the funeral home Monday, Sept. 11, at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Carter Frey officiating.
Interment will follow in Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family suggests that memorials be made to the church or charity of the donor's choice.
