JACKSON -- Frances Orpha Kerr, 74, of Jackson died Thursday, April 29, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Nov. 27, 1924, in Johnson County, Ill., daughter of Orpheus E. and Pearl F. Evans Kerr.
The Kerr family moved to Cape Girardeau in 1926. She was a graduate of Central High School.
Kerr was employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. 38 years, retiring in 1980. She was a member of Red Star Baptist Church and Telephone Pioneers in Cape Girardeau.
She had lived in Jackson since 1991.
Survivors include a brother, Marvin Kerr of Jackson; two sisters, Lucille Davis of Jackson and Nellie Ruff of Cape Girardeau.
She was preceded in death by a brother.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the chapel. The Rev. Don Stephens will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery at Buncombe, Ill.
