CAIRO, Ill. -- Frances Joyner, 80, of Paducah, Ky., died Tuesday, June 24, 1997, at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah.
She was born Aug. 22, 1916, in Bardwell, Ky., daughter of William and Frances Denney Pickett. She married Virgil Joyner, who died in 1978.
Joyner had been a waitress, and was a member of Southland Baptist Temple in Paducah. She was formerly of Cairo.
Survivors include three daughters, Linda Miles of Ripley, Tenn., Sandy Martin of Bardwell, Patti Clark of Cairo; four sons, Robert Joyner of Paducah, Virgil Joyner Jr. of Carbondale, Jimmy Joyner of Cairo, Mike Joyner of Anna; a sister, Elizabeth Joyner of Kevil, Ky.; a brother, Denney Pickett of Kevil; 17 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters, and three sons.
Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo after 5 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Topper Council officiating. Burial will be in Mound City National Cemetery.
