PERRYVILLE -- Frances Brewer, 100, of Perryville, died Saturday, May 3, 1997, at the Perry County Nursing Home.
She was born Jan. 19, 1897, in Claryville, daughter of George and Teres Riney Esselman. On Aug. 19, 1919, she married Elvis Brewer, who preceded her in death Jan. 27, 1965.
She was a housewife and a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. She also served in the American Legion Auxillary, Ladies Sodality and Daughters of Isabella.
She is survived by two sons, Elliot Brewer of San Antonia, Texas, and Ivan Brewer of Cape Girardeau; three daughters, Lavina Moranville of Paducah, Ken., Marie Modde of Wildwood, and Eleanor Pace of West Plains; 18 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
Her parents and one sister preceded her in death.
Friends may call at Young & Sons Chapel from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 6:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Wednesday. A parish wake service will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, the Rev. Kevin Fausz C.M., officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.
