ANNA, Ill. -- Forrest Dale Young, 79, of Anna died Sunday, March 4, 2001, at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital in Murphysboro, Ill.
He was born June 11, 1921, in Neoga, Ill., son of Samuel and Nellie Ferguson Young. He and Valerie E. Crane were married Oct. 26, 1945, in Neoga.
Young retired as a mental health technician at Choate Center. He was a member of First Christian Church, Marine Corps League, life member of VFW Post 3455 and American Legion.
He was a corpsman with the Marine Raiders during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Brian Young of Effingham, Ill., Ron Young of Anna; four daughters, Patrice Danielson of Toccoa, Ga., Deborah Lingle of Cobden, Alicia Young and Pamela LaSpina of Anna; a sister, Mable Wolf of Chicago; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, four sisters and a grandson.
Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Daryl Varble officiating. Burial will be in Anna Cemetery, with military honors by VFW Post 3455.
