DEXTER -- Forrest "Poke" Taylor, 70, of Dexter died Friday, Sept. 12, 1997, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. He was born May 3, 1927, in Walnut Ridge, Ark., the son of Forrest Emerson and Nora V. Coats Taylor. He had lived in Dexter for the last 13 years and had previously lived in Rockford, Ill., and Morehouse. He had worked at the Himmelberger-Harrison Furniture Manufacturing Plant in Morehouse. He was a member of the Eagles Club and a veteran of the U.S. Army...

DEXTER -- Forrest "Poke" Taylor, 70, of Dexter died Friday, Sept. 12, 1997, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

He was born May 3, 1927, in Walnut Ridge, Ark., the son of Forrest Emerson and Nora V. Coats Taylor.

He had lived in Dexter for the last 13 years and had previously lived in Rockford, Ill., and Morehouse. He had worked at the Himmelberger-Harrison Furniture Manufacturing Plant in Morehouse. He was a member of the Eagles Club and a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Taylor of Dexter; five sons: Wayne Wasbutsky, David Wasbutsky and Robert Lutes, all of Dexter, Joe Wasbutsky of Benton and John Wasbutsky of Sikeston; four daughters: Lorrie Hays and Joan Hayden of Dexter, Monica Hoffmann of Vanduser and Diane Landers of Canalou; four brothers: Bob Taylor and Lonnie Taylor of Wappapello, Pete Taylor of Rockford, Ill., and Tom Taylor of Sikeston; and three sisters: Mary Lou hare and Colene Hada, both of Rockford, Ill., and Ruby Parks of Sikeston.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will be today from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Randell Caraway officiating. Burial will be in Hagy Cemetery in Dexter.
