PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Floyd W. Wahlers, 77, of Perryville died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2019, at his home.
He was born April 4, 1941, in Perryville, son of Theodore and Hilda Steffens Wahlers. He first married Mary Cox on Jan. 30, 1968. She preceded him in death Jan. 21, 2008. He then married Laura L. Prost on Feb. 14, 2009. She survives in Perryville.
Floyd was owner/operator of Wahlco-DW Tool. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Crosstown, Missouri, American Legion and Perryville Saddle Club. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include three sons, Thomas Wahlers of Festus, Missouri, and Jonathan (Katina) Wahlers and Eric (Breanna) Wahlers, both of Perryville; two stepsons, Cris (Susan) Nuyt of Alabama and Aaron (Sandy) Nuyt of Colorado; three brothers and four sisters, Stella Smith of Hillsboro, Missouri, Elsie (Wilbur) Crossland of Festus, Leon (Lynda) Wahlers of Perryville, Virginia Smith of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Ronald (Jen) Wahlers and Donald (Aimee) Wahlers, both of Jackson, and Sandy (Charles) Turlin of Perryville; two brothers-in-law, William (Bonnie) Prost of Brewer, Missouri, and Edward D. (Paula) Prost of Nebraska; two sisters-in-law, Mary Susan (Nick) Tibbs of Fruitland and Jeanette (Al) Buchheit of Cape Girardeau; mother-in-law, Irene Prost of Perryville; three grandchildren; and five stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife; two brothers, Alfred Steffens and Raymond Wahlers; a sister, Erna Medlock; father-in-law, Edward Prost; and stepson, Scott Nuyt.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 6:30 to 8:15 a.m. Thursday at Young and Sons Funeral Home.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Zion Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Roger Abernathy officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery, with military graveside honors provided by American Legion and Delta Team.
Memorials are preferred to Zion Lutheran Church.
