BLOOMFIELD, Mo. -- Floyd Rogers, 77, of Bloomfield died Saturday, March 17, 2001, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born June 7, 1923, at St. Louis, son of Henry and Opal Harper Rogers. He and Dorthia Lee Trotter were married Dec. 19, 1942, at Dexter, Mo.
Rogers was a member and trustee of the St. Joe General Baptist Church in Idalia, Mo. He owned and operated a Phillips 66 station and drove a Bloomfield school bus for 20 years. He served in the Navy during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a son, James L. Rogers of Bloomfield; a daughter, Janet L. Conner of Bloomfield; four brothers, Henry Rogers of Centralia, Ill., Larry Rogers of Dexter, Raymond Lloyd DeJournett of Olathe, Kan., and J.D. DeJournett of Flint, Mich.; seven sisters, Louise Cox, Freda Lilly, Bertha Johnson and Ettie Mayo, all of Bloomfield. Betty Faulkner of Marble Hill, Mo., Ella Caldwell of Arnold, Mo., and Doris Zillick of Flint; seven grandsons; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter and a sister.
Friends may call at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Dan Sitz, Don Copper and Jimmie Trotter officiating. Burial will be in Bloomfield Cemetery.
