SCOTT CITY -- Floyd Noel Estes, 88, of Scott City died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 1996, at The Lutheran Home.
He was born Dec. 27, 1907, at Wappapello, son of William Acey and Mary "Mollie" Shipton Estes.
He and Hazel B. Cowan were married July 29, 1926, at Jonesboro. Ill.
He was a heavy equipment operator, welder and mechanic with Local 513 Operating Engineers for 53 years. He had lived in Scott City since 1925.
He was a member of Christian Faith Fellowship in Cape Girardeau and the Harold O. Grauel Masonic Lodge 672 of Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include his wife; five sons, Donnie, Carl and Kim of Scott City, Jack Estes of Perryville and Lloyd Estes of Cape Girardeau; four daughters, Mary Nickless of Boonville, Ind., Shirley Dalton of St. Louis, Arnell Carbaugh of Scott City and Becky Miles of Chandler, Ind.; a sister, Sylvia Wise Pettit of Cape Girardeau; 21 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, two brothers, three sisters and a grandchild.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel at Scott City.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral chapel. The Rev. Mark Carbaugh will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
