Floyd H. Huckabee, 80, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, April 16, 2000, at St. Francis Medical Center.

He was born April 4, 1920, at Pocahontas, Ark., son of John H. and Vernie Bishop Huckabee. He and Wyvonna Marie Jackson were married June 14, 1947, at Pocahontas.

Mr. Huckabee was a past member of VFW Post 3838. He worked for Superior Electric at Cape Girardeau and then worked more than 25 years for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He belonged to Local Union 1.

He served with the U.S. Army during World War II and was awarded four Bronze Stars for the Northern Frances Rhineland Ardennes Central Europe Campaigns, an American Theatre Campaigns Ribbon, a European-African Middle Eastern Theatre Campaign Ribbon, an American Defense Service Ribbon plus two Overseas Bars and a Victory Ribbon.

Survivors include his wife, Wyvonna of Cape Girardeau; three sons, Ronald F., and Mark S. Huckabee, both of Cape Girardeau, and John C. Huckabee of Raytown; two daughters-in-law, Mary Jane and Debbie A. Huckabee, both of Cape Girardeau; a brother, John Huckabee of Festus; two sisters, Esther Adams and Lula Dean, both of Pocahontas; five grandchildren, Rhonda and Kevin Jones, Chad S., Kelly M. and Aimee W. Huckabee, all of Cape Girardeau; four great-grandchildren, Jessica, Tyler and Mallory Jones and Kaileigh Huckabee, all of Cape Girardeau; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and a sister.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Dean Heady officiating. Burial and full military rites by VFW Post 3838 will follow at Lorimier Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Kenny Gardner, Gary Tallman, Kevin Jones, David Martin, Chad Huckabee and Jim Huckabee.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Assembly of God Church at Jackson.
