CANALOU -- Funeral service for Floyd Edward Smith of Canalou was held Saturday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. The Rev. Mike Cartwright officiated, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Smith, 60, died Thursday, May 27, 1993, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
He was born June 2, 1932, at Canalou, son of Lige and Ella Campbell Smith. He and Christine White were married Nov. 26, 1951, at Piggott, Ark.
Smith had worked for Missouri State Highway Department 37 years, and was a maintenance crew leader at the department's Kewanee Shed. He was a member of Canalou Assembly of God Church, and had been a deacon 25 years.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Crissie Joyce of Canalou; his mother of Canalou; two brothers, Bob Smith of St. Louis, Donnie Smith of Sikeston; three sisters, Emily Causey of Sikeston, Betty Johnson and Genevie Lathum of Memphis, Tenn.
