Funeral service for Floyd Duff of Springfield was held Saturday at Greenlawn Funeral Home South in Springfield, with the Rev. Edgar Burks officiating. Burial was in Hazelwood Cemetery, with Masonic graveside service.
Duff, 87, died Wednesday, Oct. 12, 1994.
He was born Aug. 2, 1907, near Turley, son of Thomas Howard and Nona Long Duff. In 1928 he married Ethel Mae Tracy, who preceded him in death.
Duff owned and operated Duff's General Store in Plato from the 1930-1960s, then moved to Springfield. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Springfield.
He had been a deacon at Plato Baptist Church, member of inter-county Rural Electric Cooperative Board of Directors, and Plato School Board. He was a 50-year member and past master of Plato Masonic Lodge, and life member of Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include two daughters, Jean Kingery of Denton, Texas, Mary Turner of Columbia; a son, Harold Duff of Texarkana, Texas; a brother, Emmett Duff of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Jewell Spears of Grandview; eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
