ADVANCE, Mo, -- Floyd Bowers, 72, of Advance passed away Sunday, Sept. 8, 2019, at his home.
He was born Dec. 5, 1946, in Delta, son of George Washington and Victoria Eakins Bowers. Floyd and Bonnie Bowers were united in marriage April 1, 1991, in Illinois and she survives of the home.
Floyd had been a chief engineer for AEP. He attended Haynes Chapel in Millersville.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and served in the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Bowers; son, Tyler Bowers of Chaffee, Missouri; daughter, Sara Bartels of Chaffee; stepdaughter, Sherryl (Shawn) Probst of Chaffee; sisters, Mary Baker of St. Peters, Missouri, Shirley (Carmon) Wilton of Cape Girardeau and Bonnie Bowers of Cape Girardeau; and grandchildren, Samantha Bartels, Evan Bartels, Chevy Chapman and Shelby Probst.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and a sister.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Fairview General Baptist Church near Advance.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the church, with the Rev. Scott Cook and the Rev. Jason Meyers officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery near Advance.
Morgan Funeral Home in Advance is in charge of arrangements.
