MARBLE HILL -- Florence Stephens, 95, of Marble Hill, died Monday, July 22, 1996, at her home.
She was born Jan. 14, 1901, in Greenville, daughter of James Franklin and Mary Virginia Frederick Fox. She and Clifford Earl Stephens were married May 26, 1924. He died May 24, 1991.
Stephens taught in the first high school at Greenville. She was a member of Marble Hill First Baptist Church and taught Sunday School many years, and was a member of Victory Chapter Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include two sisters, Bertha Wilson of Kaufman, Texas, Mary Harris of Kansas City; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, two brothers and a granddaughter.
Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill from 5:30-8:30 p.m. today. An Eastern Star service will be held at 7.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Marble Hill First Baptist Church, with the Revs. S.S. Borum and Fred Ritter officiating. Burial will be in Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery.
