TAMMS, Ill. -- Florence E. Ring, 79, of Tamms died Monday, Jan. 6, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

She was born Feb. 24, 1917, at Wolf Lake, daughter of William and Elsie Castleman Davis. She married Earl Ring, who died Dec. 30, 1994.

Ring retired as site manager at Happy Hour Senior Citizens Center. She was a member of Tamms United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Pat Huffman of Tamms; a son, Doyle Hale of Johnston City; a brother, Thomas Davis of Anna; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Jones Funeral Home in Tamms from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Jimmie Keller and Garnett Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Jonesboro Cemetery at Jonesboro.
