OLIVE BRANCH, Ill. -- Florence L. Ash, 88, of Metropolis, formerly of Olive Branch, died Sunday, Oct. 12, 1997, at Magnolia Manor Nursing Home in Metropolis.
She was born Aug. 11, 1909, in Hardin County, Ky., daughter of Christopher Jackson and Mary A. Gray Coyle. She married Clarence Ash. He died in 1956.
She is survived by two daughters, Dorothy DeWeese of Paducah, Ky., and Lula Mae Goskie of Dallas; three brothers, Ed Coyle and Arthur Coyle, both of Louisville, Ky., and Ernest Coyle of Beaver Dam, Ky.; two sisters, Mae Brewer of Elizabethtown, Ky., and Margie Cundiff of Louisville; 22 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, two daughters, three brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Billy Don Heady officiating.
Interment will be in the National Cemetery in Mound City.
