Florence Brumit

ORAN, Mo. -- Florence A. Brumit, 86, of Oran died Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2004, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Dec. 27, 1917, at Scopus, Mo., daughter of John and Nancy Jane Welker Douglas. She and Jess Brumit were married Dec. 27, 1946. He died in October 1974.

Brumit had been a nurse aide at Chaffee General Hospital. She was a member of the Church of God in Morley, Mo.

Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn Sadler of Oran; a stepson, Douglas Brumit of Memphis, Tenn.; two grandchildren; 12 stepgrandchildren; a great-grandchild; and nine great-stepgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, three sisters, two stepsons, and a stepdaughter.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran after 5 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Church of God in Morley, with the Rev. C.B. Stidham officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Garden near Morley.
