Flora Jean White, 79, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2020, at her home.
Flo was born April 15, 1941, in West Morland, Tennessee, to Miller Dixon and Laura Pedigo Coley.
Flo and Hugh White were married Dec. 16, 1966, at Gibson, Missouri.
She received a degree from Union University in Jackson, Tennessee. She taught in Missouri public schools for 47 years and was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha College Sorority, Alpha Delta Kappa Teachers Sorority and was the first lady of the Executive Club in Cape Girardeau. Flora was very active in her church, Abbey Road Christian Church, serving as a deacon.
Survivors include her husband; son, Brian White of Cape Girardeau; daughter, Tara Eaves of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Carolyn Dodds of Old Hickory, Tennessee, and Linda Corley of Mount Juliet, Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Virginia Lockemy.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Elaine Schoepf officiating.
Entombment will be at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum.
