Flora Marie Rhodes, 96, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2001, at the Lutheran Home.
She was born Feb. 26, 1905, at Uniontown, Mo., daughter of Louis and Juliana Ponder Schott. She and Marion S. Rhodes were married Oct. 1, 1938, at Perryville, Mo. He died in 1947.
Rhodes moved to Cape Girardeau in 1955 from Perryville.
She worked as a cook at several restaurants in Cape Girardeau, including the Marquette Hotel, Sunny Hill Restaurant and Al's Midtown. She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral.
Survivors include a son, Roy M. Rhodes of Scott City, Mo.; a daughter, Juliann Rhodes of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Walter Schott of Perryville, August Schott of Quincy, Calif.; two sisters, Hilda Meyer of Perryville, Alma Baudendistel of St. Louis; a grandchild; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, three brothers, two sisters, and three grandchildren.
Visitation was held from 4-8 p.m. Monday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel. Parish prayers were at 7 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. today at St. Mary's Cathedral, with the Rev. Gefford Lamprea officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery at Perryville.
