FLORA PHILLIPS

SIKESTON, Mo. -- Funeral for Flora Bell Phillips of Sikeston will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Blanchard Funeral Chapel. Cletus Lemmons and Pat Hogan will officiate. Burial will be in the family cemetery at Montgomery City, Mo.

Friends may call at the chapel from 5-8 p.m. today.

Phillips, 77, died Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2000, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born June 14, 1923, in Catron, Mo., daughter of Ira and Minnie Bond Melton. She and Woodrow Phillips were married Nov. 7, 1941, in East Prairie, Mo.

Phillips had been a nurse aide at Missouri Delta Medical Center and a secretary at Scott County Central Schools. She was a member of Morehouse Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Robb Phillips of Springfield, Mo.; three brothers, Clinton Wisdom of Glen Carbon, Ill., Clifford Wisdom of Altoona, Pa., Donald Wisdom of Marietta, Ga.; a sister, Freda Carroll of Alton, Ill.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter and a brother.
