Flora Mae Hamlin, 82, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born July 30, 1931, at Patterson, Mo., to Pleamon and Lila Meador London. She and Weldon B. Hamlin were married Sept. 4, 1946, in Poplar Bluff, Mo. They had been married 60 years when Weldon passed away Oct. 19, 2006.
Flora and Weldon resided several years in Broseley, Mo. They owned and operated a farm near Grassy, Mo., from 1964 to 1972. They resided in the state of Washington from 1972 to 1976, at which time they returned to the Marble Hill, Mo., area. They moved to Pocahontas in 1989 and later to Jackson.
She enjoyed cooking, gardening and quilting. She was a longtime member of Jackson Church of Christ.
Loving survivors include four children, James "Jim" Hamlin of Whitewater, Colo., Glendell Hamlin of Salem, Ore., Frank Hamlin of Jackson, Tenn., and Linda Essner of Cape Girardeau; six grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, a granddaughter, a great-grandson and five siblings.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Ed Sterchi officiating. Interment will be in Brown's Chapel Cemetery at Broseley.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to Jackson Church of Christ or Children's Homes Inc. of Paragould, Ark.
