Geraldine Flo Davis, 87, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, April 5, 2009, in Jackson.
She was born March 31, 1922, in Des Arc, Mo., to Hazel McKee and Ray Hagerty. After the death of her father, she and her mother returned to Des Arc, where she was raised by her mother and maternal grandparents, W.E. and Bess McKee. She married R.G. Davis on Nov. 16, 1946. R.G. preceded her in death on Sept. 23, 1987.
Davis attended Des Arc schools and Flat River Junior College. After receiving her teaching certificate from Southeast Missouri Teachers College, she taught in the Vulcan and Des Arc schools for several years. She and her husband moved to Cape Girardeau in 1963 when R.G. Davis became business manager for Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 562.
Survivors include her children, Linda (Mike) Rood of Fairview, Texas, Mac Davis of Cape Girardeau and Mari Bess Davis of Jackson; grandchildren Travis Rood (fiancee Callie) of Jackson and Megan (Casey) Frankenberg of Dallas; great-grandson Michael Siebert; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ruegg Funeral Home in Piedmont, Mo.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Mountain View Cemetery in Des Arc.
If desired, memorials may be made to Safe House for Women or Southeast Missouri Hospice.
