PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Flavian L. Kutz, 90, of Perryville died Sept. 19, 2010, at Independence Care Center in Perryville.
He was born on Dec. 2, 1919, at Biehle, Mo., to Louis Kutz and Catherine Baudendistal Kutz. He married Rosella T. Schnurbusch on Jan. 19, 1946, at Apple Creek, Mo. Rosella survives in Perryville.
Flavian was a World War II Army veteran. He was the owner/operator of Perryville Auto Supply from 1939 until his retirement in 2002. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville, the American Legion Post No. 133 and the VFW Post 4282.
Also surviving are one daughter, Janice Kutz-Sweet of Cape Girardeau; three sons, Larry Kutz, Ronnie Kutz and Mike Kutz, all of Perryville; four grandchildren, Carissa Reed, Heather Marren, Ryan Kutz and Mark Kutz; one stepgranddaughter, Monica Wolf; six great-grandchildren, Braedyn, Addison, Carly, Robert, Nicholas and Carter.
Flavian is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Walter Kutz; four sisters, Isabelle Wolff, Clare Thompson, Elsie Armbrecht, Irene Peth; his stepmother, Hilda Thompson; three stepsisters, Addline Roberts, Rachel Anderson and Virgil Sutterer; three stepbrothers, Herman, Hubert and Chalmer Thompson.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville. Parish prayers at 6 p.m. followed by VFW service. Visitation will continue from 6:30 to 9:50 a.m. Tuesday. The Rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville, with the Rev. Milton Ryan, CM, officiating.
Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery with graveside military honors courtesy of American Legion Post 133.
