ORAN -- Ferrel Austin, 79, Oran Route 1, died Thursday, Feb. 20, 1997, in the Emergency Room at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
He was born Dec. 11, 1917, in Atkins, Ark., son of Emmett Y. and Alta Hammond Austin. He and Lucille Heigle were married Nov. 7, 1936, in Atkins. She died Feb. 19, 1995.
Austin was a self-employed farmer. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and Lakeville Masonic Lodge 489, both in Bell City.
Survivors include a son, Ferrel Austin of Bell City; a daughter, Sandy Todt of Sikeston; a brother, Durward Austin of Belle; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5-8 p.m. Saturday. Masonic service will be at 7.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the chapel, with the Rev. Ed Pangburn officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
