Fay M. McAlister, 75, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, at Southeast Missouri Hospital. She was born July 22, 1934, in Finger, Tenn., daughter of John Alvin and Ocie Loraine Smith Griswell. She and Fred Bickings were married June 5, 1953. He preceded her in death June 29, 1975. She later married Stack McAlister, who also preceded her in death...

Fay M. McAlister, 75, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

She was born July 22, 1934, in Finger, Tenn., daughter of John Alvin and Ocie Loraine Smith Griswell. She and Fred Bickings were married June 5, 1953. He preceded her in death June 29, 1975. She later married Stack McAlister, who also preceded her in death.

Fay was a homemaker.

Survivors include a son, Ricky Bickings of Alto Pass, Ill.; a daughter, Wanda Burns of Perkins, Mo.; four grandchildren, Jonathan Burns of Perkins, Gary Burns II and Laura Wade of Advance, Mo., Whitney Bickings of Alto Pass; two brothers, Jerry Griswell of Salem, Mo., Lonnie Griswell of Missouri City, Texas; three sisters, Joy Griswell of Dyersburg, Tenn., Nancy Reynolds of Newbern, Tenn., Sylvia Hager of Cape Girardeau; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and two sisters.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, Mo.

The graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. today at New Morley Cemetery in Morley, Mo., with the Rev. Gary Burns II officiating.
