Fannie Rea Gosche, 92, of Scott City died Saturday, July 9, 2011, at The Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Jan. 27, 1919, in Atkins, Ark., daughter of Carl and Mary Etta Childress Estes. She first married Harry Thurston, who preceded her in death. She then married Zeno "Sam" Gosche, who also preceded her in death.

She worked at Hirschowitz Supply Store in Oran, Mo., and was also city collector in Oran for two terms. She was a member of the Eastern Star No. 342 in Morley, Mo., where she was a past worthy matron; a member of Morley and Scott City VFW Ladies Auxiliaries, where she was a past president for both; past district deputy of VFW District 19; and a charter member of the Jolly 12 birthday club in Oran.

Survivors include a daughter, Ramona Thurston Bellis of Scott City; grandson, Whitney Bellis of Scott City; granddaughter, Tiffany (Brad) Borgwald of McGregor, Texas.; great-grandson, Parker Borgwald of McGregor; sister-in-law, Wilma Metz of Oran; stepson, Stephen (Linda) Gosche of Wichita, Kan.; stepdaughter, Nancy (Sam) LeGrand of Cape Girardeau; five step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, and two brothers.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.
