Fama Pratt, 93, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., formerly of Jackson, passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2005, at her daughter's home in Poplar Bluff. She was born Nov. 12, 1911, in Hale Center, Texas, daughter of Edward T. and Exah Lou Flake Boyd. She and the Rev. Eugene T. Pratt were married May 13, 1935, in Crowley, Texas. During their married life, Fama faithfully supported Eugene's various ministries. He passed away April 18, 1965...

Fama Pratt, 93, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., formerly of Jackson, passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2005, at her daughter's home in Poplar Bluff.

She was born Nov. 12, 1911, in Hale Center, Texas, daughter of Edward T. and Exah Lou Flake Boyd. She and the Rev. Eugene T. Pratt were married May 13, 1935, in Crowley, Texas. During their married life, Fama faithfully supported Eugene's various ministries. He passed away April 18, 1965.

Fama was a placement director for Southwest Baptist College in Bolivar, Mo., from 1966 to 1970. While her daughter and son-in-law, Joanna and Lew, worked on the mission field in Taiwan, Fama was a secretary at the English-speaking Morrison Academy in Taichung, Taiwan, from 1971 to 1973. She also served two brief missionary assignments in Arizona and Texas.

Fama moved to Jackson in 1973 and became an active member of First Baptist Church. She especially enjoyed singing in the JOY Choir. Her current church membership is at First Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff.

Loving survivors include two daughters, Joanna Miller and husband Lew of Kissimmee, Fla., Carol Ann Brashers and husband Terry of Poplar Bluff; two sons, Daniel E. Pratt and wife Suzan of Hamden, N.Y., Phillip E. Pratt and wife Ruth of Greensboro, N.C.; 14 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by six sisters and a brother.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 5 to 8 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Lew Miller officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Jefferson City, Mo., with a committal service at 3:30 p.m.
