SIKESTON -- Faber E. "Bill" Spear, 71, of Sikeston, died at 1:55 a.m. Saturday, July 6, 1991, in Missouri Delta Medical Center here.
He was born June 20, 1920, at Greenbriar, Ark., son of Floyd Joseph Spear and Mary Estella Spear Wilson. His mother, of Greenbriar, survives.
On Jan. 12, 1942, he married Annie Avalene Leigh at Valonia, Ark. She survives.
He worked in the Missouri Highway and Transportation Department maintenance division for 21 years. He served in the Army during World War II.
Other survivors are sons, Tim Spear, Pleasanton, Calif., and Tony Spear, San Antonio, Texas; brothers, Eldon Spear, Traskwood, Ark., and Bob Spear, Conway, Ark.; a sister, Floy Mae Hill, Greenbriar; and six grandchildren.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.
Service will be at the chapel Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jerry Reynolds, pastor of Wesley United Methodist Church, officiating. He will be assisted by the Rev. Cline Ables of Sikeston.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston with full military honors being conducted by the Army Memorial Detachment of Fort Leonard Wood.
