COBDEN, Ill. -- Everett Richard Yates, 59, of Cobden died Monday, June 16, 1997, at Herrin Hospital.

He was born Oct. 28, 1937, in Cobden, son of Alonzo and Zelma M. Caraker Yates. He married the former Geraldine Smith.

Yates was a retired truck driver.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Cathy Hickam of Florida, Darlene Tipton of Cobden; his parents of Lake of Egypt; a brother, Donald Yates of Lake of Egypt; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna after 6 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dewayne Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Anna Cemetery.
