Funeral Mass for Everett Walter Haskell Jr., 1105 Patricia, will be held at 7 p.m. today at St. Vincent's Catholic Church. The Rev. Milton Ryan will officiate. Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Memorial Park.
Friends may call at the church after 2 p.m. The rosary will be recited at 5, and parish prayers at 5:30.
Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Haskell, 73, died Tuesday, Dec. 31, 1996, at St. Francis Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 7, 1923, in Covington, Ky., son of Everett W. and Barbara C. Reisch Haskell. He first married Betty Ann Dressman May 4, 1946, at Fort Mitchell, Ky. She preceded him in death. He and Gertie Thompson were married April 15, 1978.
Haskell moved to Cape Girardeau in 1969 from Green Bay, Wis., as part of the management team which established the Procter & Gamble plant in Cape Girardeau. He worked for the company 30 years, retiring in 1983.
He was a member of St. Vincent's Church, member and treasurer of the Men's Association, was a 3rd degree knight with KC Council 1111, 4th degree with Thomas A. Langen Assembly, and Cursillo.
Haskell was a volunteer worker at Camp Renewal, FISH, Meals on Wheels, and Mid America Teen Challenge.
He served with the Army in Europe during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Dale, Rick and Scott Haskell of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Sue DeKelver of Marinette, Wis., Pat Edwards of Cape Girardeau; three stepsons, Eric and Leif Thompson of Cape Girardeau, Mark Thompson of Independence; two stepdaughters, Toni Holdsworth of Lindsborg, Kan., Terri "Schatzie" Moore of Antrim, N.H.; 11 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; 10 stepgrandchildren; and a great-stepgrandchild.
