Evelyn Griffin Seabaugh, 82, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012, at home.

She was born March 20, 1929, in Hornersville, Mo., to W.J. and Corda Atteberry Griffin.

She and Paul Miller Seabaugh were married April 24, 1949, at Vanduser, Mo. He preceded her in death April 14, 2009.

Evelyn was a 1948 graduate of Vanduser High School, and attended Steimle Business College in Cape Girardeau. She was a charter member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, where she served as an elder, taught Sunday school and was a youth leader.

She worked at the Southeast Missourian in the late 1940s and early 1950s, and also at Sunnyland Travel Agency. In addition, she co-owned and operated Seams Unique. She had been a Girl Scout leader and volunteered at Southeast Hospital, American Red Cross, American Cancer Society, Missouri Veterans Home, Love Inc. and RSVP.

Survivors include two daughters, Daphna Fiehler (Michael) of Cape Girardeau, Diane Clark (David) of Park Hills, Mo.; a sister, Bernice Eason of Sikeston, Mo.; a brother, Bond Griffin of Bloomfield, Mo.; two grandsons, Andy Fiehler (Elizabeth) of Lawrenceburg, Ky., Brad Fiehler (Nicole) of Huntersville, N.C.; two great-grandchildren, Tucker and Hadley Fiehler of Huntersville; many nieces, nephews, friends and relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a sister and four brothers.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Westminster Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Karen Dumey officiating. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1820 Perryville Road, Cape Girardeau, MO 63701, or Southeast Hospice, 10 Doctors' Park, Cape Girardeau, MO 63703.
