Evelyn Ricketts

Evelyn Ruth Ricketts, daughter of the late Edward Lee and Marion Heflin Cruce, was born July 27, 1948, in Cape Girardeau and departed her life Monday, May 29, 2023, at Life Care Center in Cape Girardeau at the age of 74 years.

She was of the Pentecostal faith, and a resident of Cape Girardeau. She worked as a certified nursing assistant for several years in the Scott County, Missouri, area.

Evelyn enjoyed being outdoors watching butterflies and spending time with family.

On Dec. 14, 1989, she was united in marriage to Ronnie Dale Ricketts in Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death March 11, 2016.

Survivors include two sons, Eric (Gina) Keller of Millersville and Jeff (Ruthie Baker) Messemore of Vienna, Illinois; daughter, Brandie Wolfenkoehler of Scott City; sister, Deanie Hadley of Cape Girardeau; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband and parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by a son, Brian Ashworth, and two brothers.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Saturday, June 3, at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, Missouri.

Funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 3, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Fairmount Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
