Evelyn C. Koester, 84, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, March 31, 1999, at the Lutheran Home.
She was born Aug. 27, 1914, at Kelso, daughter of Robert and Paula Seyer Messmer. She and Louis J. Koester were married June 29, 1957. He died Nov. 10, 1971.
Koester had been a licensed practical nurse at St. Francis Medical Center. She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral, St. Mary's Council of Catholic Women, Fort D Senior Citizens, St. Francis Medical Center Auxiliary, Friends of St. Francis, and Daughters of Isabella.
Survivors include two sisters, Alma and Loretta Halter of Cape Girardeau.
She was preceded in death by two brothers.
Friends may call at Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel from 9-11 a.m. Friday.
The Daughters of Isabella will have prayers at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the chapel. A prayer service will be held at 11, with Msgr. Richard Rolwing officiating. A burial and committal service will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 8 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Cathedral.
