MATTHEWS, Mo. -- Evelyn Mae Huls, 78, of Matthews died Thursday, Oct. 17, 2002, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo. She was born Oct. 9, 1924, in Sikeston, daughter of Leland Stanford and Geneva Alma Drury Stucker Sr. She and Lowell "Bud" Huls were married Nov. 27, 1941, in New Madrid, Mo. He died Dec. 29, 1998...

MATTHEWS, Mo. -- Evelyn Mae Huls, 78, of Matthews died Thursday, Oct. 17, 2002, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo.

She was born Oct. 9, 1924, in Sikeston, daughter of Leland Stanford and Geneva Alma Drury Stucker Sr. She and Lowell "Bud" Huls were married Nov. 27, 1941, in New Madrid, Mo. He died Dec. 29, 1998.

Huls owned and operated Evelyn's Drapes 40 years, and was a member of Tanner Street Church of God in Sikeston.

Survivors include a son, Ricky Huls of Sikeston; two daughters, Beverly Wright of Sikeston, Vicky Bailey of Matthews; a brother, Leland Stucker Jr. of Kansas City, Mo.; five sisters, Virginia Parker, Mary Mitchell, Ruth Miller and Betty Strickland, all of Sikeston, Linda Fisher of St. Charles, Mo.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a great-grandchild.

Friends may call at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston from 5 to 8 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Tanner Street Church of God, with the Rev. Carl Addison officiating. Burial will be in Matthews Cemetery.
