Evelyn Natalia Hagans, 98, of Jackson died Monday, May 12, 2003, at Fountainbleau Lodge in Cape Girardeau. She was born Jan. 27, 1905, in Buffalo, N.Y., daughter of Fred C. and Christine Reinhold Dau. She and John M. Hagans were married Dec. 23, 1932. He died Oct. 22, 1959...

Evelyn Natalia Hagans, 98, of Jackson died Monday, May 12, 2003, at Fountainbleau Lodge in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Jan. 27, 1905, in Buffalo, N.Y., daughter of Fred C. and Christine Reinhold Dau. She and John M. Hagans were married Dec. 23, 1932. He died Oct. 22, 1959.

Mrs. Hagans taught piano lessons in her home more than 30 years. She was a 64-year member of New McKendree United Methodist Church, member of its Esther Circle, Thursday Study Club, was a state officer in federated women's club, and active in Girl Scouts.

She moved to Jackson in 1933 from Jefferson City, Mo.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Dau and Marshall Brown of Oakton, Va.; a nephew, J.E. Hagans of Jackson; three grandchildren, Mark and Eric Brown, Melissa Lavin; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Dau.

Friends may call at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. John Rice officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New McKendree United Methodist Church.
