ANNA, Ill. -- Evelyn Boomer, 90, of Anna died Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2006, at Union County Hospital in Anna.
She was born Aug. 21, 1916, in Anna, daughter of John and Minnie Elkins Pitts. She and James Boomer were married Aug. 31, 1933. He died March 8, 2002.
Boomer was a member of the Gospel of the Kingdom Church in Jonesboro and played piano many years. She had been a stitcher at the shoe factory.
Survivors include two daughters, Bertha Mighell and Barbara Langston of Anna; a son, James Boomer of Marion, Ill.; a sister, Helen Fear of Anna; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, four sisters, a grandson and a great-great-grandson.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Crain Funeral Home in Anna.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Bon Reynolds and Richard Reynolds officiating. Burial will be in Casper Cemetery.
