FULTON, Mo. -- Della "Evelyn" Banks, 83, of Fulton passed away Sunday, Jan. 5, 2020, at Fulton Nursing and Rehab.
She was born March 28, 1936, in Charleston, Missouri, daughter of the late Robert and Annie Lynn Venson. On Aug. 14, 1955, Evelyn was joined in marriage to Freddie Banks Sr. He preceded her in death April 25, 2013.
Evelyn spent her youth in Charleston with her six siblings. She spent her life loving God, being spoiled by her husband and raising her children and grandson. Born a nurturer, she provided exceptional loving care to her handicapped brother for many years following the passing of her parents. She adopted and raised a great-grandson and spoiled all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Evelyn retired from Fulton State Hospital, where she worked in food service. She was a member of Assembly of God Church and Eastern Star.
Evelyn will be lovingly remembered by sons, Freddie Banks Jr. of Houston and Christopher Banks of Fulton; daughter, Teresa Banks of Fulton; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Russell Banks; three siblings; and a great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mike Haldeman officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
