Evalene "Lena" Thomas, 78, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2007, at Heartland Care Center.

She was born Sept. 11, 1929, in Humboldt, Tenn., daughter of Chester and Mary Hicks. She married Walter Thomas, who preceded her in death.

Thomas was formerly of Portageville, Mo.

Survivors include a son, Sherman Thomas of Cape Girardeau; three daughters, Lynn Williams, Mae and Evelyn Thomas, all of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Clarence Hicks of Portageville; three sisters, Georgia Turner of Kentucky, Anna Norris and Mary Young of Portageville; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to service time Saturday at DeLisle Funeral Home in Portageville.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Reginal Gant officiating. Burial will be in Portageville Cemetery.
