EVA STRAYHORN

SIKESTON -- Eva L. Strayhorn, 83, of Nixa and formerly of Sikeston died Friday, Jan. 14, 2000, at Christian Health Care Center in Nixa.

She was born Aug. 22, 1916, at Sikeston, daughter of Frank and Maggie Whalen Tidwell.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sikeston.

She and Chester L. Strayhorn were married June 14, 1932, at Bloomfield. He preceded her in death Jan. 17, 1985.

Survivors include a son, Larry Strayhorn of Nixa; two brothers, Elvis Tidwell and J.C. Tidwell of Sikeston; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel at Sikeston.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the chapel, with the Rev. Dr. Jim Davis officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
