EVA P. SHANAHAN

CAIRO, Ill. -- Eva P. Shanahan, 93, of Cairo, died Sunday, Nov. 28, 1993, at Daystar Care Center.

She was born Dec. 7, 1899, in Chaffee, Mo., daughter of William Thomas and Edith Waterman Clanton. She married Edwin Shanahan, who preceded her in death.

Shanahan was a retired freight clerk with Illinois Central Railroad. She was a member of Cairo Baptist Church, and Order of Eastern Star.

Survivors include two sisters, Billie Elias of Cairo, and Juanita McClure of Vacaville, Calif.

She was preceded in death by four sisters.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Cairo Baptist Church. The Rev. Larry L. Potts will officiate, with burial in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens at Villa Ridge.

Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo after 5 p.m. today, and at the church after 9 a.m. Wednesday.
