Funeral for Eva Mercier of Cape Girardeau will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. The Rev. Thomas Bass will officiate. Burial will be in Home Cemetery at Perryville.
Friends may call at the chapel from 4-6 p.m. today.
Mercier, 92, died Thursday, Nov. 5, 1998, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
She was born Jan. 30, 1906, at Bernie, daughter of Minor and Lodie Grimes Dickirson. She and Frances Valle Mercier were married in 1926, at Bernie. He preceded her in death.
Mercier grew up in Bernie, attended Southeast Missouri State University and received a teaching certificate. She taught at Bernie schools until moving to Perryville.
She was then active in the family businesses: Mercier Theaters and Mercier Drugs in Perryville, and Mercier Drive-In Theater at Brewer. She was a member of Perryville Garden Club.
Mercier lived in Perryville most of her life, moving to Cape Girardeau in 1985.
Survivors include a daughter, Marjorie Hobdey of Falmouth, Maine; two sisters, Evadna Black of Chesterfield, Mildred Gollogly of Overland Park, Kan.; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother.
