EVA JONES

SIKESTON -- Eva B. Jones, 86, died Tuesday, May 13, 1997, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

She was born Oct. 13, 1910, in Mississippi County, daughter of Virgil and Ellen Blake Sweet. She first married William Paul Haynes May 29, 1929. He preceded her in death. She later married Elmer A. Jones Oct. 19, 1957. He also preceded her in death.

Jones was a member of Murray Lane Baptist Church, American Legion Auxiliary, and VFW Auxiliary.

Survivors include two sons, William "Bill" Haynes of Sikeston, Robert Haynes of Cross Plains, Tenn.; two sisters, Melba Wallace of Cairo, Ill., Elzina Ice of Leroy, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and three sisters.

Friends may call at Ponder Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Kelly Grubbs officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
