Funeral for Eva Bessie Allen of Cape Girardeau will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel. Jeff Williams will officiate, with burial in Fairmount Cemetery.
Friends may call at the chapel after 5:30 p.m. today.
Allen, 85, died Monday, Sept. 21, 1998, at Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Services of Cape Girardeau.
She was born Feb. 11, 1913, in Paragould, Ark., daughter of James A. and Sarah B. Henderson Utley. She first married Daniel Smith Aug. 20, 1927, in Cape Girardeau. She later married Melvin Allen. Both preceded her in death.
Allen had worked at Rigdon and Tipton laundry services. She attended World Wide Church of God.
Survivors include a daughter, Betty Nanna of Cape Girardeau; three sons, James Smith of Gordonville, Richard Smith of Cape Girardeau, Dan Smith of Hartwood, Va.; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters.
