Eunice M. Ernst, 88, of Howard Lake, Minn., died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011, at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia, Minn.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church in Annandale, Minn., with the Rev. Thomas Queck officiating. Burial will be in Corinna Cemetery in Wright County.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Zion Church and also an hour prior to service. There will be a prayer service 7:30 p.m. today at the church.

Ernst was born Oct. 14, 1922, at Lester Prairie, Minn., to William and Leona Wiggs Emich. At Saint Paul's Lutheran Church she was baptized by the Rev. Spleis and confirmed by the Rev. Stahlke.

She attended parochial and public schools and in 1940 graduated from Lester Prairie High School. She married William "Johnny" Ernst on Feb. 1, 1942. They farmed many years in Clearwater Township in Wright County. Eunice also worked at Wonderalls, Briggs Lake Home for the Handicapped, Annandale Care Center, Nelson Brothers Restaurant and Bernatello's Pizza. She enjoyed time with her family and friends, quilting, sewing, embroidering and cooking.

Survivors include her husband, William of Howard Lake; seven children, Charlotte (Dale) Jopp of Hutchinson, Minn., Susan (Peter) Lenz of South Haven, Minn., William Jr. (Faye) of Young America, Minn., Nadine (Dennis) Jopp of Maple Lake, Minn., Nancy (Gerald) Adams of Jackson, Wanda (Rob) Yelton of Annandale, Jill Ernst of Howard Lake; 17 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Leona Emich; parents-in-law, William and Agnes Ernst; a son-in-law, Gary DeMorett; a brother, Earl; three sisters, Glenna Kohler, Ruth Brown and Doris Holtz; seven brothers-in-law, Harold and Alvin Ernst, George Emich, Emmert Jenneke, Leon Kohler, Robert Brown and Vernon Holtz; four sisters-in-law, Helen Emich, JoArda Ernst, Ethel Emich and Lois Jenneke.

Pallbearers will be her eight grandsons, Troy Lenz, Todd, David and Timothy Jopp, Eric Ernst, Nathan, Joshua and Jacob Adams.

Organist will be Kathryn Queck.

The arrangements were entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care of Annandale.
