Eulalia F. Friend, 85, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2004, at St. Francis Medical Center.
She was born Jan. 8, 1918, at Dexter, Mo., daughter of Arthur and Luella Bischoff Kirsch. She and Harry D. Friend were married Nov. 15, 1942, at Parma, Mo.
Friend was a 1935 graduate of Lilbourn High School. She had been a teacher in a one-room school in New Madrid County, and also worked 15 years at Missouri Unemployment Service in Sikeston, Mo.
She moved to Cape Girardeau in 1979 from Sikeston. She was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Randal Friend of Scott City; a brother, Grover Kirsch of Columbia, Mo.; a sister, Audrey Baker of Columbia, Ill.; and three grandsons.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday.
The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Paul Short officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery at Sikeston.
