PUXICO -- W. Eugene "Dude" Young, 70, formerly of Puxico, died Friday, April 14, 1995, at Hunter Acre Caring Center in Sikeston.
He was born Dec. 28, 1924, at Morley, son of Thomas and Flora Ruth Kenser Young. He and Lois Jean Kesterson were married Oct. 6, 1949, in Poplar Bluff. She died Nov. 23, 1990.
Young was a retired carpenter and had taught building trades classes at Puxico R-VIII Schools. He was a member of Life Chapel Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include a son, Tommy Young of Jackson, Tenn.; two daughters, Charlotte Pinkard of Sikeston, Connie Bruton of Mustang, Okla.; two brothers, Carroll Young of Puxico, Raymond Young of Hesperia, Calif.; three sisters, Wilma Eaton of Essex, Shirley Mitchell of Marble Hill, Patsy Bishop of Jackson, Tenn.; five grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.
Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico after 6 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Life Chapel Assembly of God Church, with the Rev. Gary Green officiating. Burial will be in Duck Creek Cemetery near Puxico.
