Eugene Popp

Eugene Gilbert Popp, 72, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Sept. 6, 2004, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

He was born July 2, 1932, in Cape Girardeau, son of Walter and Dorena Reimann Popp. He and Ruby Erna Petzoldt were married Feb. 6, 1955, in Cape Girardeau. She died Sept. 5, 2004.

Popp was a retired electrical contractor and had owned and operated Popp Electric. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and its Men's Club.

Survivors include a son, Matthew Popp of Fruitland; a daughter, Julie Marlin of Jackson; three brothers, Stanley Popp of Cape Girardeau, Kenneth Popp of Oak Ridge, Donald Popp of St. Charles, Mo.; and a grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Douglas C. Breite officiating. Entombment will be in Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum.
